I hadn't actually heard about this book until now but it sounds like it has such a great message, so I'll pick it up for my kids. I feel so bad for the authors, their visit was canceled when they were already there and ready to present

If you and your children are not ready for a particular book, that is okay. It is not okay to limit the access to books, stories, and experiences for other families. Every book is not for everyone, but every book is for someone.

Being in Canada, we have Thanksgiving early October, so I guess it's easy to get into Christmas spirit in November. Though I find I don't really shift into Christmas mode until we have snow that stays

I spent a bunch of time researching ships/famous pirate ships for a cover illustration for a made up novel, and only part of the ship is in the drawing anyways 😅

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

I feel like I only notice adult content labels on art. Though it's always over things that seem a bit silly to warn about, like a bare butt, or maybe just very little clothing. Not sure if written things get slapped with the label or not

Happy #KidLitArtPostcard day! I had hoped to share a finished new piece I've been working on but I've been busy prepping to teach a painting class in my usual time slot I reserve for illustration work. I'm teaching it this weekend so it was crunch time. This is a bit older but works for October 😁

Honestly true. Stayed home for a few days when I potty trained my kid, and then tried short outings after. It's truly a long process even after you think they've got the hang of it. I wish you luck!
