the top left is an illustration of jayce, having just emerged from the rune alongside viktor, whose body is still corrupted and non-human. viktor holds his face softly, a thumb shamefully brushing over the arcane stain that taints the upper half of jayces face with a magical webbing pattern that extends down from the fingerprints on his forehead, and colours a chunk of his hairline white. jayces irises are significantly more pale, and the pupils along with them. viktor is saying “oh, jayce…” in horror at the mark of his own creation. jayce looks up at viktor, slightly scared of him, but moreso relieved that he is alive and has finally realised what he’s done.

in the bottom right is an illustration of jayce, later on in the post-canon timeline, sitting on the ground, leaning back and using one hand to prop himself up, while the other is in his lap. he is looking down at his prosthetic leg pensively. his hair is slightly longer, and a portion of it is tied back into a ponytail. he still retains the arcane stain. his broken leg is replaced with a below-knee prosthetic, of which is comprised of leather, buckles, and a metal foot. he is wearing leather gloves—signifying his return to blacksmithing and possibly pointing toward the prosthetic being his own creation—a white button-down shirt, over which he wears a black vest, and another dark sage green vest on top. he is not wearing pants, save for a pair of black boxers, mostly just to highlight the prosthetic.

in the top left is an illustration of viktor, later on in the post-canon timeline, curled in on himself as he begins to shed his herald form. most of his skin is still concealed by metal and alloyed gold—while in other parts, such as his shoulders, face, hands, hips and feet, his flesh is visible. an iridescent webbing pattern is faintly visible on those parts, as though the metal carapace leaves scars of arcane origin as more and more of his flesh escapes. as he continues to shed the metal, the pattern will eventually retreat and fade. his hair is the same length as it was in his non-human form, though the back of it is tucked into the metal that peels away from his neck and forms what looks like a collar. his eyes are bright with shimmering pale colours, similar to both the way his eyes looked back in the commune, and to mage!viktor, implying he still retains some magic.

in the bottom right is an illustration of viktor in the same shedding phase, this time hunched over, looking up at someone out of frame with pleading eyes. he looks distressed. one of his hands is clawing at the alloyed gold on his chest (the pieces left over from the back brace that integrated into his body), and the other is palm up between his legs, like there are pieces of the shedded metal in it. he is missing an eye, the one that sustained the wound caused by ekko, though there is no hole in which it once was. it is simply skin with a imprint in the shape of an eye, complete with eyelids, covered in that same webbing, though this webbing will not fade with time. it’s slightly more vibrant. it’s implied that the wound impeded the way his eye formed while the rest of his body pieced back together inside the metal shell that was the herald form.
