I once entered a pie-eating contest solely because I wanted pie. I lost, but I sure did enjoy that pie. MaxFun worker-owner.

I don't wanna work, I just wanna play the 1996 point-and-click adventure game with FMV and Jeff Goldblum, "Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland" all day

YUP. I get ai stuff fairly regularly from people, including people who really don't like ai! They just haven't dove into it to figure out if it is ai and I go through that exact calculus of is it worth it to tell them. Especially bc they are just trying to connect.
Now that I'v got a new phone waiting for me in NJ, the cost of which fully depends on this old phone being in good working order to trade in, I'm constantly finding new and spectacular ways to drop my phone.
Going to physical therapy for chronic back and hip pain is a great way to find out all the various new ways in which you have "a very weak butt"--the medical term, I believe.
You are doing important work

We're having a moving sale! We're selling physical items like vintage MFD gifts but we're also selling weird stuff like compliments. If you'd like an overly specific compliment from a MaxFun staff member go to maximumfun.org/movingday and get one for $10. Thanks to Imogen, who bought the first one!
Just thinking about how bonkers it is that medical offices still want stuff faxed. As if calling up a machine on a phone & telling it to just shoot out 30 pages of medical info into the room like that bouncing cards screen when you win solitaire is more secure than just uploading a PDF to a portal.
I think this all the time and it is honestly a great struggle. I love medjool dates so much but I have to supress this feeling every time.
she's done it again boys!

it = buying a mildly special food that she thinks is so special that she just never eats it because it is not a special enough time so then it expires and she has to throw it away

when they close it all up, I do believe this will go down as the funniest video on the internet
Tonight I saw a comedy show and ate a piece of pie for dinner, so yes, living in NYC again is basically just like it was ten years ago. Only I need twice as much sleep as I did then.

(Also I've become a big fan of And Scene at @caveatnyc.bsky.social and tonight @ifycomedy.com was in it! Hi Ify!)
💯 I saw it and thought 'how does that dog see?'
Congrats on ten beefy years!!!

With yesterday's disheartening Colbert news and today's deeply cruel gutting of our beloved PBS & NPR, maybe consider killing your Paramount+ subscription in favor of PBS Passport?

hi whit! thank you so much. love, stacey
We have now twice driven past a sign in NJ with a lady silhouette on it that reads "Satin Dolls- Home of the Original Bada Bing!"
an incredible landmark that you don't see in any of the travel blogs.
Now here's a sign I can respect. He does what he believes in--no exceptions.

Some places will have to start rationing water - to enable AI slop.

"A data center like Meta’s, which was completed last year, typically guzzles around 500,000 gallons of water a day. New data centers [will] require millions of gallons of water a day"

But I stopped paying attention after a while so maybe they aren't as not great as they seem.
I don't really see people talk about any of that anymore so maybe they are ok now. Just always seems weird how beloved they still are!
I actually really liked in-n-out and I don't even eat meat. But aren't they pretty politically...not great? Besides bible verses on stuff, we stopped going years ago when they donated to Republicans and Trump and tried to not follow vaccine mandates and not let people working wear face masks.

Over 120 mRNA cancer trials are now at risk as the Trump admin cuts funding & tells researchers to scrub “mRNA” from grant proposals.

What started as COVID fearmongering is now derailing life-saving cancer research.

Hope remains - but scientists say time is running out.

Wow that description really takes you on a journey
I wonder how many times in my life I've said "I love potatoes" out loud while eating potatoes. I think enough that it would make the cut for the molski pull string doll.
"unexpected sedgewarbler" is a delightful phrase
