Samsung LCDs are edge-lit so the LED backlights are overdriven and wear out, plus contrast isn’t as good as a controllable array of lights behind the LCD screen. TCL QM8K would be my choice if I had to buy today.

10 years is actually pretty good around here. My $4500 Panasonic plasma lost the left sound channel after about 4 and needed video repairs before that. I still like LCD/LED over OLED so I don’t have to worry about burn-in. TCLs are pretty damn good in bang for buck if you won’t go for a Sony.

This isn’t self-righteous. It’s just righteous. Too many ignored what was clear from Project 2025 and his first term because they thought it would only be bad for others. They should be called out on their selfishness and racism.
