The creator of Dead or Alive just passed away. While I can't say I cared for the difficulty of his games, I was and still am impressed with the early DOA games and their dynamic playfields. The series was never quite the same after he left.

Bomberman Act Zero has got to be up there. It's boring, ugly, and needlessly grim... yet I went through all fifty stages. Even got an achievement for it... although it feels more like a mark of shame.

Finally found the reason Byron was hesitant to dismount ladders in the Icy Heights stage of Operation Hibernation Plus. In fact, the new technique I'm using in the snow and hidden stages is better than the one I was originally using... I might switch over.

I was watching the Barney Miller spin-off Fish (pro-tip: don't watch Fish) and Barry Gordon was a supporting character; some child psychologist. It was weird watching the old dude from Good Burger getting lessons in child rearing from Disco Donatello.

One thing I've learned is not to make any assumptions about gaming in Brazil. I suggested that most Brazilians can't afford modern game consoles (and they are very expensive, anywhere but especially there) and got the creator of Mortal Kombat Arcade Edition hot under the collar.

I gave the Retro Classics portion of my Game Pass subscription a kick of the tires. It's not terrible even with a low broadband speed, but the lag and visual breakups are pretty noticeable, making me wonder why they didn't just let you download the games straight to your system.
