Velasco, apparently relieved by his impending departure of the deference owed to a commanding officer, curses in Spanish and whistles when she emerges from the ladies’ room with bolder makeup, a passable up-do, and a fresh, low-cut, pink top.
It’s Curry, though, who — smiling — confronts the evidence.
“Hot date?”
Olivia imagines Elliot, probably already seated at their table. Tie removed, a few buttons undone, blue eyes twinkling at her.
She blushes. Nods. “Very.”

It's a long night, sitting by Elliot’s bedside, watching him just lie there.
At least he's breathing on his own, Olivia tells herself. It could be worse.
But. He was hit by a truck.
It could certainly be better.
Around two AM, she remembers the last time she saw him. It’s ridiculous how fast they went from “our All Our Friends Are Dying era” to — this.
For fuck’s sake.
“It wasn't a dare,” she grumbles at him.
By four AM, she’s dried her tears, and she’s bargaining.
“You have to wake up if you wanna hear me say it back.”

Elliot heads for the bar, and she watches him go.
