The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.
Wow, now that's what we really need now isn't it? Old white guy here, i can pronounce BOTH names, but maybe that's the Black Irish in me.

Don't we have enough trouble these days?
The term you are looking for is "Little Eichmann"

"Little Eichmanns" is a term used to describe people whose actions, while on an individual scale may seem relatively harmless even to themselves, taken collectively create destructive and immoral systems in which they are actually complicit."

This is correct. Often you must categorize people as 1) With you, 2) Undecided, and 3) Against you.

You don't need to recruit people already with you, and you can mostly waste time with those adamantly opposed to you.

That leaves everyone in Category 2
Oh wow...here, new account on Bluesky 'eh Screwcry?

Well, let me be the first to block you. Buh bye, no one will miss you.
Apparently Amazon is sold out of inflatable frog suits.
No, it's not sarcasm, just review a few of his posts. He's a troll, nothing more.
Worst of all, he's an Aussie. This isn't his problem. Block the bastard & move on.
Trump has signed a memo to take fed funs to pay soldiers he CAN'T pay because of his Gov't shutdown.

I think that's called...looting
What this really speaks to is what can be done in a directed economy that sets broad public goals with a view to the future and mobilizes industry to get there.
I don't like Mitch McConnell, i despise some of the things he's done but he's still a human being & so watching this is sad & nothing to take joy or find humor in.

We all will get old, i'm 72, & the slow, sometimes rapid decline that comes with aging is something all of us will come to know.
Mike Johnson is the ultimate example of a "LIttle Eichmann", someone who is just cog in a machine that spews out hate, misery, injury and death to those they deem not worthy

Because he studiously comes across like an Aryan Nation version of Mr Rogers he doesn't seem so dangerous

But he IS all that
You are absolutely right on this.

A priority for a new Dem majority in either/both Houses of Congress should be reform of all these extra-legal, internal "rules" of the House/Senate that have contributed to the gridlock & dysfunction we see today.
The process of Confirmation needs more transparency & a review of all Senate confirmation process is in order. This is a matter of internal self-made rules of the Senate.

I'm not at all interested in Term Limits, which is just about lazy voters, nor do i think a mandatory Retirement age is needed.
I do think the same Code of Ethics that other Federal Justices work under should be mandatorially applied to SCOTUS with enforcement authority..somewhere. In addition the misuse of the "Shadow Docket" needs addressing, & it's time to allow video recordings of proceedings for public access.
Well, thank you overall, but i do disagree in that while "balancing" the Court is controversial the degree to which it's got packed during Trump's 1st term REQUIRES balance to be a consideration. It's not just conservative vs liberal philosophies, it's how far Right it's been deliberately tilted.
Could you do term limits? Maybe. Limit how many can be appointed by one POTUS? Maybe, but there is no precedent & both MIGHT fail Constitutional review (by SCOTUS). Even so, the impact would take years to see.

Matching # of Justices to the # of US Appellate Courts also makes sense given workloads.
That wasn't my point, which was what would be the quickest way to re-balance the Court (that Trump/McConnell packed) would be to expand the # of Justices because there is precedent to change that. Do i think it's needed, yes. Are other reforms needed, yes, but this would be the fastest way.
Well, that's helpful. I'm guessing you're quite familiar with the stupid.
I absolutely agree.

You do touch on what many think, and has mostly been unspeakable which is in essence, removal of POTUS, and estabishment of new governance by non-Constitutional means.
the target. They just move to another district seat or to the other house in a bi-cameral legislature. Putting SCOTUS on Term Limits isn't exacty prohibited Constitutionally, but it DOES serve notice to Congress, who would have to craft legislation and would see themselves as next.
The question here is what can be done (relatively) quickly, matter quickly and has SOME precedent in Court history to help justify the changes.

This leaves expanding, or contracting, the # of justices on the Court. It's been done several times. Term limits are generaly useless where legislators are
Cause it's always about Trump isn't it?
Mike Johnson is probably the most dangerous MAGA/GOP politician in Congress. In thrall to Trump without the obvious loony antics of Chip Roy, Nancy Mace or the blatant stupidity of Tuberville he is the PERFECT face for evangelical driven Christian rightist politics.

MrRogers meets Big Brother.
