The best place to play the Final Fantasy Magic: The Gathering cards is Standard Brawl.

The format is pretty fun. The games aren't over super-fast, and even a lot of the lower-power Legendaries get to shine.

The design intent of every card that was printed before Commander took off was that the game you were playing was 1v1.

Since we care about design intent, all those cards should be banned. That's how it works, right?

If they can make a hybrid RW extra combat and hybrid is meant to be things both colors can do, then I guess white can too. They just don't want to actually print one for some reason.

And the rules make sense as is, so they're good to stay the way they are.

What needs to happen if "new players" are confused is coming up with a better explanation of what hybrid mana is that doesn't confuse them, because somewhere along the way someone told them a hybrid card isn't multicolored.

Then play a different format that doesn't have color identity as a deck building rule - which is nearly every other magic format.

The COLOR IDENTITY of that is colorless. CI and color are two different things in some cases, which you are ignoring on purpose.
