Baltic sea, of all places! I mean, I grew up here, never had a quick sand experience before. FIrst time for everything. Counter to what wiki says, it WAS possible to pull legs out (lots of effort though), guess it depends on water to sand ratio? Scary, though

bonus picture of my jeans being air dried; just lucky I guess that i thought to bring a change of clothes that day. I don't, normally, but I was really planning to dip my toes in the surf and kinda thought to myself oh probably the bottoms of my jeans will get all soggy, so i better pack some extra pants. well, whaddayaknow

Loved the narration, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it felt like you were still finding their voices, and they kinda settled by part 3(ish)? I am a huge fan of the way you read, so that was cool to hear. Or maybe it's just my imagination 😅 And great job on that French accent, btw 👏

It's also amazing how accurate this was as a prediction re: S2 story beats. Truly mind-blowing at times.
I remember reading it when I first registered @AO3, and loving it, but it hits differently now that we actually have this bit of canon available

this is a picture of where the sea meets the sand meets the sky (which is reflected in the wet wet wet sand). i had the misguided sense of trying to walk there only to immediately DROWN in quicksand! i kid you not, it was fucking terrifying. got out maybe after 5 minutes of struggling, soaking wet to my thighs, spent the next 2 hours blow drying my jeans. if you got this far in the description, let me know - i've got a picture of the jeans :)

rose hip that grows in the dunes is completely edible. back when i was little, the city's grandmas would collect it and make rose hip jam. they would also forage wildrose petals for the same purpose. not anymore - well, maybe someone does it, but i haven't seen a single old lady picking those red berries in a while

rust-colored patches on the face of the sand cliff are sea buckthorn, also ripe for the picking. oh, to be stranded on this beach...

curiously, this amber dates back to much earlier times than Pliocene. Or maybe the real treasure was our day spent together? (i was on my own, for the record, with only Lindie's voice and unfortunatelyobsessed's story for company :)

insane foliage

now that i have successfully dismantled my blog, i'm starting it again. this is a kind reminder that all posts are temporary. feel free to drop me a dm if you wish to know my reasons, or if you miss some of the images that i'd posted: I have archived everything, because it was strangely (or not?) heartbreaking to contemplate deleting it for good
