BUT housing is such a crises now if the government wanted to give 5k for new home buyers to move to affordable rural towns, I’d support it. They would never because racism. (They don’t actually want non-whites moving there.)

Something in this discourse should be said for the fact that humans innately prefer living within walking distance to others, and have for recorded history. To your point you make those rural towns walkable with public parks etc. or inertia will always take over.

No one in the media, I think most of us privately believe just this. He needs to maintain a bull market or he loses the donor class. He also needs to give checks to farmers and manufacturers asap or he loses the midwest.

Xi on the other hand, no such pressures. He has no midterms.

Trump has brought the behavior of a site construction crew to politics, in a way that now puts the accepted decorum of Republicans to be well below how any other employee anywhere is supposed to behave (see the group chats) and light years behind our expectations for how our children should act.

AI has plenty of use cases. Will take many grunt work white collar jobs. Those jobs that would have been done by interns and recent grads. Not sure what that means for us in 5 years, but it seems not great.

But seriously, I noticed GOP rhetoric around Dems wanting to wait until after the protests over the weekend.

Every accusation is also an admission. Seemed to me from that it sounded like negotiations had been ongoing and the timing of this week was part of it.

Changing my job title from Graphic Designer to Branding and Intellectual Property Manager. (Not joking)

This sucks for young designers trying to get into the field, the work AI will be doing is what you would have been doing.

Not really, it’s echo chamber, you’ll follow the voices saying what you already believe.

But it is heartening that the news sites slanting partisan are being abandoned, but the ones trying to stay unbiased are holding up. Hopefully MSM will be forced to self correct to stay relevant.
