Urban romantic. Maker of moments and meaning. Tenor, pianist, AI tinkerer. Obsessed with form, memory, and the magic of place—from Ravel to Renoir, street grids to sacred music. Always exploring, occasionally snarky, mostly becoming.

I grew up learning by doing—and noticing.
This space is for design, memory, music, AI, cities, and the sacred.
Sometimes thoughtful, sometimes snarky (usually about dinner or film), always curious.
Ritual, rhythm, beauty, and real talk welcome.
Let’s build a better way to be online—together.
Don’t forget Amy’s Baking Company. My review was still getting 12k-15k views a month for years after she closed.
Only restaurant ever to be quit by Gordon.
Part of wielding immense influence is owning the responsibility of it. A single bad review can crush a life dream. Constructive, balanced feedback is the only way.
Weird and messy start. Saw in AMC Dolby. God bless those poor wall speakers. Earplugs in and I was still peaking at 95db.
Producer and Lead Actor not a good combo even overseen by Disney.
Could have been worse.
Dood! Press and hold flashlight in the iPhone notch while it’s on! You can adjust the width of the beam and the brightness by pressing and dragging! 🙌😎
This pod makes my top-10 list. Great work, guys! Imma make a sound clip of ‘ticci saying “However…!” #ticcifan
THIS is the pod I’ve been waiting for for almost a year. Everything you need to know about MCP, right now.
🔌 This week on @appstories.macstories.net: we cover Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its fragmented ecosystem.

iPadOS: four-finger sideways swipe switches between stages!

It feels weird to find simple pleasure in a surprising Apple iPadOS design feature. But on my Magic Keyboard, I can swipe sideways with four fingers to switch between stages, just like I can switch desktops on macOS. Woo hoo!
If I continue to live my life without fear, on the other hand, I maintain my own power.

So, I ask you, what are you FOR? What are you in favor of, with a passion that causes you to do something about it? What would you march for, fight for, rally for, sing for, raise money for?
Energy follows focus. If I focus on being against something, I am still focusing on that thing and, therefore, feeding it energy.

Terrorism is a great example of this. Terrorism seeks a response; that is its purpose. By reacting to terrorism, I give it power.
STAND FOR SOMETHING
I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there. -Mother Teresa
TIP: QUICK IPHONE SECURE LOCK!!
got caught at immigration enforcement at the airport and they want your phone? just press and hold power and up-volume. You'll get the power-off screen, but to cancel, you'll need to enter your device password. FaceID will be disabled.
VisionOS had me disappointed that we’d just figured out a way to put new depthless and opaque app window screens in my view. “I wish I could see through them,” I thought. So went the Feedback back then. LOOK WHAT APPLE DID!

I’m ready for Glass 2.0 with iGlasses next year!
7 chapters. 3 months of research.

A (controversial?) deep dive into Liquid Glass. A whole new iPadOS.

My iOS and iPadOS 26 review is here.

Enjoy ☕️

...THAT'S "Waste, Fraud, and Abuse"!!
And don't even get me started on RealPage -- the REAL reason housing costs have skyrocketed!
and "How to stop hospitals from charging me for...
...a roll of tape they took 3 inches from?
...a battery for a device that I used once?
...a case of tissue boxes from which I took 3 tissues from one box?
...a hospitalist that just walks around billing patients' chart IDs but doesn't do anything?"
[tangential] @mcuban.bsky.social said most companies self-insure and "a cigna/uhg" administers. How to wage war on the MEDICAL BILLERS -- credentialed to maximize provider profits -- who are draining our companies' bonus pools??

I want to work on this: "How to turn doctors into gig workers?"
You could even choose to do something that has nothing to do with the choice at hand, but you will find it easier to break the hold of your negative ego if you just start to move forward through the challenge.
Sometimes, all that is required to break the hold of the negative ego is action.

If you are faced with indecision today, pick something, quickly, and do it. It doesn’t really matter if it’s the “right” choice, just do it.
Too often, we let our negative egos get in the way, manufacture fear and indecision, and keep us from acting. When you surrender to the flow of the Universe, when you are present and in acceptance of what is, the way ahead is clear and there is no indecision.
BREAKING THROUGH INDECISION
When fear and indecision creep in, remember: the way through is action. Surrender to the flow of the Universe, trust, and move forward—any step breaks the hold of ego. The path clears when you simply do.
it's true. so easy to unite behind fighting a common enemy. Guess what. It's US.
make no mistake. that orange man yelling from the rooftop thinks ALL OF THIS is HIS to OWN and LORD OVER. "IT'S MY MONEY. AL OF THIS."
“No, Senator. If confirmed, I will absolutely not dismantle HHS. I will not eat children. And I will certainly not feed them to the MAGA zombie horde!”
has it already been a year since @caseynewton.bsky.social pointed the way to @capacities.bsky.social ?! but Casey missed (so far) the powerful integrations available through MCPs and Webhooks, i.e. tell your companion to "create a github issue for this" and many more. WE ARE CLOSE!

Thinking models have gotten surprisingly good at identifying potential sources — potentially academic ones. When writing about Grok last month, I wanted to talk to someone who had studied relationships between people and chatbots. ChatGPT led me to Harvard's Center for Digital Thriving, and suggested someone to talk to, along with their email address. I wound up interviewing them for the piece. The fact that thinking models can quickly analyze the academic literature about any subject and identify prominent researchers on the subject, along with their email addresses and phone numbers, is beginning to save me a lot of Googling.
Need a gpt to translate that scratch into text to share. Rawr that pic is delectable.
