ICYMI: Our socialist-in-office was featured in @cityandstateny.bsky.social last week! Our chapter has never let its small size come in the way of big goals. Sarahana was a MHVDSA leader before she was a candidate, and there's so much more left to win. Read the article (& join DSA!) ➡️ bit.ly/3UnUbOJ

REMINDER‼️ Kingston tenants: show up this Saturday to ask the Rent Guidelines Board to keep rents frozen so folks can actually get the full 15% reduction they are owed. And stay tuned to learn how to force your landlord to follow the new law! Questions? Email [email protected]
This week, rent stabilized tenants in Kingston won a HISTORIC court case which affirmed their right to a 15% rent reduction. This is the FIRST rent reduction anywhere in the country and sets a precedent for what is possible throughout NY! www.timesunion.com/hudsonvalley...
Kingston rent reduction, rent control upheld by Court of Appeals
The decision ends a case that has been seen as a test of the state’s expanded rent-stabilization law.

Last night, after hearing moving public comment from Kingston workers and tenants calling for solutions to the housing crisis, the Kingston Common Council unanimously passed resolutions in support of Green Social Housing (PASHNY) and Rent Stabilization (REST)!
TONIGHT, the Kingston Common Council is voting on resolutions to call on Albany to pass both PASHNY and REST so that Kingston can continue its battle against rent burden and housing insecurity. JOIN US on the front steps of Kingston City Hall (420 Broadway) at 7:15pm!
PASHNY is how we House The Future — building tens of thousands of units of permanently affordable green social housing all across the state. REST is how we make it feasible for upstate municipalities to enact rent stabilization and protect tenants.
On Friday night, our members tabled at a
@sarahana.bsky.social town hall on two critical initiatives to tackle the housing crisis: PASHNY (Permanently Affordable Social Housing for New Yorkers Act) and REST (Rent Emergency Stabilization for Tenants Act).
We’re not just commemorating history; we’re making it. And the fight doesn’t stop here. Find us at more May Day events this weekend (link in bio!) Together, we’re building a world where every worker has a future worth fighting for. Get involved here: bit.ly/joindsa
This May Day, we hit the streets of Newburgh with Amazon workers, farmworkers, postal workers, teachers, and immigrant organizers, all rising up for justice on the job and in our communities.

Billions in tax breaks won't solve the housing crisis. To create homes for our communities to put roots in, we need a public investment of permanently affordable homes that are high quality, 100% union-built, and democratically managed. Join our Kingston town hall: bit.ly/social-housi...
Come tell the Public Service Commission to deny Central Hudson's request for a rate hike and let them know that we need to replace this failing private monopoly with the Hudson Valley Power Authority!
