No real basis time wise nor location wise! You could make an argument for the Age of Discovery, but the core concept is that I'll be tackling it biome at a time. Route 1 is the initial shoreline, but I may do a volcano, rainforest, deep sea, etc, in the future !

My take on the humble Catoblepas for my DnD campaign, made it more akin to a Musk Ox or Damascus Goat while still filling the role of Bison.

Their offensive aroma is due to infestations of small beetles, producing a foul smelling liquid as a means of breaking down their thick fur to eat. ✨
