Mike Johnson has now had the House adjourned for 73 out of the last 85 days.

Epstein Shutdown.
Fortunately, the aeroplane did arrive and I got home.
These are not kids. They are just deplorable people, and the face of Republicanism. This is who they are.
J.D. Vance called the Young Racist Republicans "kids". Many of them were in their 20's to late 30's. When I was in my 20's I was in law school. In my 30's I had become a writer, and I damn well wasn't a racist, misogynist, homophobe, or celebrating rape.
San Jose airport is so strange. It's like an old west ghost town. Nobody at the American check in. Nobody at TSA Precheck. Also, not a lot of options for food.
At the San Jose airport preparing to head home from the ABA conference on AI. Met so many brilliant and amazing people and they seemed to really like my keynote speech and the conversation after.
Or the latest is this thing trying to book me on flights tomorrow, but I'm literally steps away from my gate and still have an hour and a half until my flight boards. I swear to all the gods, this thing has to stop trying to be helpful!
I have new info for my talk on AI at the ABA conference in San Jose. Bad weather in Phoenix had everything delayed, but I had a 4 hour layover so this was no big deal, but airline AI kept trying to rebook me on multiple flights that would have had me arriving in San Jose at midnight,

If Chicago wanted to make those Texas soldiers feel at home, they'd wait for a blizzard, then turn off all the power and go to Cancun for the weekend.

In Trump's America, you're a hell of a lot more likely to be kidnapped off the street and beaten by masked goons cosplaying as ICE agents than you are to be assaulted by an immigrant.
One of the great strengths of science fiction is that we allow people to consider difficult, uncomfortable topics, but at arms length because it's about aliens or elves or on another planet or in a fantasy world. That way it feels less confrontational for people.
I love Los Feliz. Rented a house there while I was working on Trek, and the Los Feliz Inn was a restaurant that I remember so fondly.
Oh shit, I'm so sorry. I have to fly tomorrow, but if you want to talk you know I'm here for you, my friend.
😂 They look like they are ready for takeoff.
Oh dear. I hope Elder is all right and this was scheduled.
A week from today -- No Kings March. Let's make this one epic! I will be at the march in Santa Fe. Find out where your's is happening and _go_! There are more of us than there are of them. Let's make that abundantly clear.
It's Saturday so here is Yondu in another astoundingly weird position.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
Off to San Jose tomorrow to be the keynote speaker at the ABA (American Bar Association) conference on AI. It is so strange the places that a certain Star Trek script have taken me.
Perhaps she did this to placate him. That seems to be the play for every world leader. Lavish him with praise so he won't retaliate in some manner.
