1984 Citadel Man At Arms (who happens to also be not so coincidentally a 15th century knight). Pretty sure this was Citadels best selling range for a couple of years. Still available from Wargames Foundry. #oldhammer #citadelminiatures #warhammer
I still have a lot of these! Was also around the same age when I discovered this particular madness
Been thinking about this period a lot recently. I think the impact of this runs across all areas of production at that time, including miniatures and the evolution of the ‘Eavy Metal style.
One of the very best early ranges!
Although in a confused way these went the other way :)
Stunning work on a classic! I’ve a good few ‘real’ Brets from the period too. The whole range was beautiful IMO
Thanks! Exactly. I think he was originally sculpted for that range, as were a lot of the others (some of the same dollies). Likely ended up at Foundry during Bryan’s exit. Those late 3rd Brets clearly lacked some variety (not to mention the super quick paint jobs the studio did for White Dwarf).
Reclaiming Foundry 100 Years War for the Lady (which is where a lot of these figures started in the first place). Beautiful figures.
Status Wastedhead - Citadel Chaos Dwarf 1987. Love these wee lunatics. #oldhammer #warhammer
Chaos warrior, halfling and wizard. I ended up with those figures and I think all through this.
Heh, I managed three of these I think.
Good grief. The later down and out with the beard and no hat perhaps?
Amazing. Pretty sure the writer didn’t know where that comment was going to go and just rode it out to the bitter end. Got to admire that devil may care attitude in some ways … The video itself was class!
Yes! 100%
Highly recommend The Stuff of Legends website and Collecting Citadel Miniatures Wiki if you’d like more info on these. Both goldmines of info
Founded by Brian Ansell of Citadel Miniatures fame, and now run by his family. A lot of those ranges switched to Foundry when he sold up. Highly recommend the Hundred Years War Perry range - some rare ex Bretonnian sculpts in there (ghosts of their slotta tabs on some of the castings …)
Please post a link to this when available!
Do it! Lots of great little details once you start on it with a brush
Great textures in the paint job
Rogue Trader Space Ork. Too much fun to paint. #oldhammer #roguetrader #warhammer
Citadel Giant Treeman later known as Kinty for the Tragedy of McDeath. Bought in Southampton in 1983 and finally painted! Love this guy. #oldhammer #warhammer #theoldworld #miniatures #dungeonsanddragons
Lovely stuff. Some of the best dwarves ever there.
Both range and writer mean a great deal to me. What a wonderful thing to own.
