“... defects are inevitable in the first phase of communist society as it is when it has just emerged after prolonged birth pangs from capitalist society. Right can never be higher than the economic structure of society and its cultural development conditioned thereby.”

That’s primitive accumulation
And promptly insulted @rooseveltinstitute.org by firing all the staff who did the work that generated this recognition. Teen Vogue is now little more than a propaganda rag

Firstly, billionaires are not physically made of stocks, if a billionaire falls down a hole and expires his stock portfolio persists and continues to have value, secondarily, this is why one diversifies one's investment portfolio outside of the stock market, thirdly, okay, let's test this hypothesis

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions

"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"
Howard Lutnick helped, as his son is Don Jr and Eric’s partner in World Liberty Financial and multiple related crypto plays

Every day it feels more and more like a zombie apocalypse over on LinkedIn, in which you start a conversation with someone who you hope is an ordinary person and then a couple of turns in discover that they have surrendered their brains to the "AI" mass delusion.
Raising taxes is always worth it if it’s for funding transit.
There’s no coherent public purpose to limiting bus usage, certainly not with money as the mechanism. If the buses are full, add more. There is no major city in the world that has ever had too much bus capacity.
How insulting and theologically incoherent. Probably the invention of some ‘guru’ who preys on confused westerners in Varanasi for the first time
What if anything can you surmise about the portion of burger customers who can’t evaluate concert ounces to portions of a pound in their head?
Of course there’s a messaging war. Frame it as prosecuting those who stole from the military. And never shut up about how the thefts were carried out to prevent civil servants from returning to work.
All this stealing covers only a couple weeks of military pay (~$187B/year), so they’re just ensuring that pay will stop closer to Thanksgiving if they don’t do things like seat Rep.-elect Grijalva and vote on releasing the Epstein files that a few weeks delay makes no difference to
35 countries and counting are sufficiently sure it’s genocide to bring criminal complaints to the ICC, and the judges are sufficiently convinced that they have issued arrest warrants for Bibi and Gallant. The window for abusing our uncertainty has decisively closed.
So Catholic doctrine is that the fetus growing in Mary’s womb was already god before birth? As an outsider to the finer points of god the son, I wonder how good the White Sox bullpen would be if Nestorius had prevailed with the Italian bishops
Mostly true, but a few soccer commentators will surprise you. Tommy Smyth especially is known for one-liners that belong in Irish poems
Any particular reason you single out Branko’s article? He’s usually quite well informed and cogent, tried to save us from Biden when Bernie still had a chance.
This take brings to mind the Proudhon line about dreaming of a world where a mere democratic socialist would be executed as a *reactionary*
www.mnav.io you’re right it’s no longer uniformly true, but Strategy is not an outlier. Screwing with share acquisition rights, as Metaplanet did, is an effective method to underperform the market segment.

And that the value of a BTC in the treasury of such a corp is valued by Wall Street above the value of a BTC in an ETF.
As Matt Levine of Bloomberg’s Money Stuff newsletter/podcast points out once a week now, Digital Asset Treasury corps trade at a premium to the notional value of their digital assets. So Saylor’a board likes this, and will support using debt to buy more BTC

In short, the problem here is not that Signal ‘chose’ to run on AWS. The problem is the concentration of power in the infrastructure space that means there isn’t really another choice: the entire stack, practically speaking, is owned by 3-4 players. 11/
Marx is broadly pro-automation in chapter 15 of Vol. 1, sure, but his issue with the Luddites is at least as much that he wants to take political power, not just do industrial sabotage to maintain the status quo ante
With options like these, I could see how domestic service might appeal
