Remember Jones in the Fast Lane?
It's a competitive life simulator from '91. I played it a lot as a kid. It also happens to be a big inspiration for the game I’m working on now: Walk of Life.

Let me tell you more about it... 🧵

My 2 years at the studio, and all my designs for Walk of Life, summed up in 33 seconds. Starring Buster Keaton, as me.

More UI designs from Walk of Life! The first screen's from before I joined the team. The last one’s the latest design.

Getting back to writing blog posts! ✏️

It’s old content, a 4y.o twitter thread, lost when I fled the old place. I decided to bring it back to you.

Maybe you recall it? It was about stairs 🛕

I did a UI/UX talk at CCP recently, on the evolution of the UI in Walk of Life, here are 4 different versions of the location screen I went through...

Or if you want something different, become the Adventurer. Skip work, complete quests for loot, and sell your treasures at the pawn shop to pay the rent. Upgrade your trait at the Academy for better quests, and more!
Take the Shopper, for example. They get a loyalty card that gives discounts on every 4th item bought, plus quests like filling your home with stuff and throwing a party to show it all off.
A big focus for us is offering different ways to play through roles. You pick a Role from all Walks of Life(!), each with its own advantages and disadvantages, changing the way you play.
So what do you do? Well you get a job, get educated, buy stuff for your apartment. Remember to eat! Shower and work out at the gym, get a better job and go for a walk. Vote at the mayoral election and store your money in the bank. What can't you do in it?!
It's also a competitive multiplayer life simulator. In fact it shares a lot of similarities with Jones (don't fix what ain't broken). There's a map with all sorts of different locations to visit, each offering unique things to do.

Hey if you've played the demo, we'd love it if you'd leave a review!

Never done that before? Here's how!
