as always, it's fine if you can't afford my designs. i don't begrudge people for their budgets, we're all having tough times. it's just frustrating be told i'm overcharging when i'm intentionally working with thin margins to keep my clothes as affordable as i can without bankrupting myself.

great breakdown and a perfect illustration of why being told my clothes are too expensive is immensely frustrating

i've chosen the route of indie designer + online retailer and i charge retail prices at a markup of 2-2.2x, when it should be closer to 3x, in an effort to be as affordable as possible

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵

Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."
