Got a little tired of the arguing on Twitter and here, so I made a video about my thoughts on the issue of GenAI in Flesh and Blood. Please share this around if this issue concerns you, and give it a watch even if you disagree. It's only 16 minutes long.

I'll DM ya what I've got rn!
I have gotten my Lyath deck in a spot where it can beat Cindra, if I can refine the Verdance matchup further I am feeling quite confident about bringing Lyath this PQ season
Yeah Shelter is 1000% defensive disruption in those spots. I feel like people have a very feelings-based view of disruption and use it as a word for "that thing where I lose a card out of my hand and I feel bad"
If I play Hunter or Hunted and it banishes a card out of your hand, that is obviously disruption. But a sink that bricks cards in hand situationally isn't? I think people are being too nitpicky about these terms as if they were keywords
I take damage to hold a hand with Pulping, intending to give it go again and send a CnC afterwards. My opponent has a d-react in arsenal and stuffs the go again. They have disrupted my turn defensively. People really ignoring Karol saying "well-timed" in the article, obviously that is disruption!
???

If your opponent wants to deal damage and you stop them is that not disrupting that plan on a very basic fundamental level? Disruption is just interaction, yes?

A better example is sink blowing a snatch. 100% denying your opponent what they want
2nd armory in a row 3-1 on Lyath my cope is unbound
I'd also like to say that from the Marionette player's perspective, having to plan a turn that relies on flicking and just hoping they don't draw the prevention feels SOOO BAD it makes me not wanna play the hero
I haven't seen a single one of these "reasonable uses of AI" people that call me stupid and accuse me of unreasonable things say a word on any of the posts made by people who want AI to replace artists btw, but I'm sure they all care a lot about artists and are very neutral on the issue
4/9 words being not present or different is close to the exact same to you? That's almost half different
Using this technology for your company is contributing to this, no matter how small a role the AI art may play in the process. The elimination of humans from this process does not evolve the art form, it stagnates it with digital artistic inbreeding. That is why humans are important.
AI generated art is not the future of art, it is a future for corporate streamlining and the elimination of artists from the workforce. It is a way for a tech company to swoop in like a big box store in a small town and smother the competition with its promise of efficiency.
basically downloaded the entirety of the artistic world that exists online and are brute forcing the tech to be able to replicate the artists they see there. There have been countless examples of artists seeing an AI generated piece that is very obviously a reproduction of art they've published.
the evolution of art, they do not care about it in that way, they care that it is more convenient to them to be able to tell a machine to make something and it makes something recognizable. This tech isn't made by a single person either. It's trained by huge teams of people who have
The machine does not iterate on art as a form. It does not have its own moments of inspiration looking at the art it scrapes. Its sample size is unfathomable. All it cares about is accurately producing an image that matches other things it has seen. The people who use this tech do not care about
When artists just mindlessly copy what they see and produce unoriginal versions of what someone else has already made they're are often considered to be unoriginal and ripping someone off. When a machine does this, we're told this is the natural evolution of the art form. It isn't.
Surrealists, cubists, etc. all developed an art form out of wanting to break from the conventions they saw in the art world, adding in both political and emotional influences to their art and techniques. What a human adds to the process is the ability to reason with the art they see.
They learn to replicate these techniques by learning from other artists, art classes, art tutorials, and they add their own preferences and appraisal of the techniques into the process. This is how artistic styles develop. Sometimes art is even born from a dislike of certain styles.
That begs a long reply for a site with a character limit, but I will do my best.

When a person sees art and is moved by it and inspired to make their own art, they seek out other artwork that inspires them. They pick and choose the art that moves them most, the techniques that they appreciate.
These are not even close to the exact same and if they were why would it have a different name and be the fifth version
Except he has FaB art reused on her weapon right next to it with "v5" written on it, so he could easily have done that for both
There is a difference between a person learning art *techniques* and adding their own perspective and a machine tracing billions of artworks, frequently outputting art that looks traced, and adding no artistic input of its own that pumps them out in seconds
Small touch but I love that you always use "they" on commentary. Makes me feel very seen and appreciated that you do it so consistently.
I don't normally do self-promo much, I try not to, but if you did watch this video and thought it was good I'd really appreciate if you could repost it. I don't want this conversation to go away, and I want the discourse around it to be civil, and I have hope that this will help.

Thank you! Like yeah, I am not asking anything extravagant on LSS' part, I wish people understood that I'm saying it's worth it to look for alternatives to AI and providing some examples of what they could do differently. The AI is so unnecessary!
