“…taking legal action that would prevent himself being questioned at a public inquiry.” Yeah, I bet he is
I think I see this as the “proper” cover, probably for the same reason!

Although, sinister AND hilarious you say? Piece of cake for The Birthday Party.

For me, this is a note perfect encapsulation of being an awkward teenage 80s goth. “Obsessive, deadpan and moribund…” 😆🖤

I’m well behind with #salemseptember but as I move into the final part of the book I decided to treat myself to this gorgeous 1982 edition, which I love. It smells appropriately ancient

I love how this is an official road sign in Glenelg, Scotland. Photo taken 6 years ago in our last holiday before COVID.

Next week on Bake Off…chip week. The bakers tell Paul Hollywood to do one and go down the chippie instead #gbbo
I have Junkyard by The Birthday Party somewhere…isn’t the first Bauhaus album 4AD too?? Possibly a couple of singles as well
There’s something oddly satisfying about having anything on 4AD vinyl I always think.
Apologies, I meant Hearsay Please rather than Hazel. (The two tracks are listed the wrong way round throughout.)
There is less of a consensus than with some artists, but Treasure seems to be very popular.
I was very late to the party, Heaven Or Las Vegas was my first!
Also, I don’t mean that a Siouxsie comparison is underselling Garlands as such; I just meant that Garlands is strong in its own right, that it’s not the work of mere copyists. Certainly it sounds more like post punk listening to it these days, no bad thing in my book
I was listening to Treasure yesterday, another great album.
