This has got be some of the worst negligence I’ve ever seen in sport. Eli Kotoa knocked unconscious in the WARM UP, allowed to play and sustain multiple brain injuries that lead to emergency surgery.

It’s 2025
Also have they just sat it on a fucking concrete floor?
What’s the latest with Twitter these days?

IF SATURDAY WAS MASSIVE, THAT IS HUGE! Back-to-back away wins for the Iron, with Beestin, Ewing and Sellars-Fleming netting.

Of course it fucking does
Isn’t this what Pre-print servers are for?
Only since I’ve started doing work on brain injury and sport have I been called an activist (multiple times), which tells me I’m finally doing something worthwhile with my research time, and I’m probably doing it right.

I used to think I was a vampire but on reflection I might not be.
I noticed you didn’t have Høgskulen på Vestlandet as an option for institution. We have a pretty big health department at our Bergen campus
I don’t know why more stand up comedians don’t just take up university lecturing. It’s basically crowd work with references.

THREE IN A ROW! It’s an absolutely massive win on the road for the Iron as we come from behind to take all three points. Howe, Rose and Whitehall with the goals.

Leadership also think students are computer literate - another sign of how far off it they are.
I think you need to be focusing on your sociology. Do better.

Practical takeaway for podcasters: Think critically about guest selection. Try to diversify across employer, qualifications, gender, ethnicity, and perspectives while still maintaining quality standards.
Good content and diverse voices aren’t mutually exclusive! 💡

#podcaststudies
Many hosts focus heavily on guest credentials - where they work, number of publications, doctoral quals - rather than their actual message. Perhaps this is with good intentions (curating quality content), but it can lead to the same voices being heard repeatedly.
But despite not being paid or influenced by third-party editorial processes, podcasters still impose editorial decisions on themselves, worrying about employers, sponsors & broader community.

So even though they’re “independent,” they’re not actually free from gatekeeping processes.
Here’s what we found: Independent podcasting means being free from editorial gatekeepers like big media outlets and traditional news/entertainment channels. Democracy! So far, so good…
We interviewed independent sport science podcasters who create open-access content (freely available to the public). We were able to add further nuance to what it means to be an “independent” podcaster.
