Are we doing enough to ensure that people living in regional Australia have equitable access to dental care?
Forty percent of the 566 Local Government Areas have no dentists, although only 3% of the population live in these regions. But in major cities there are 70 FTE dentists per 100,00 people, dropping to 46 in inner regional areas where 18% live, and even lower in outer regional and remote areas.
Why is it so hard to find a dentist in the bush?
