Cartoonist of the comic series "Incredible Doom", named one of the best of the year by Vanity Fair. It's about teens in the 90s getting their lives turned upside down by the early internet. (He/him)

Here’s a fun vow to make with yourself:

Every time you're on social media, end by following a link off-site—and poke around for a second.

Bonus points if it's a site not owned by shareholders or angel investors.
This is an awesome idea.
As I'm moving from hoping to meet my funding goal into actually producing my 'Zine Storage Boxes I have been revising the design. This one is "A Love Letter to Self-Publishing", very similar to what I mocked up initially, but less messy and busy, and I think nicer www.kickstarter.com/projects/the...
A mockup of the Love Letter to Self-Publishing 'Zine Storage Box. Mostly pale yellows, pinks and purples, the design mimics the famous Marvel Comics 25th Anniversary edition covers, except is filled with all your favorite characters from the world of self-published and indie comics. Yes, SMILE was originally a minicomic. A better view of the 25th Anniversary design. Text on the graphic states, "A 'Zine is something homemade, personal, not created with mass-appeal in mind. maybe your 'zine only means something to a small group of people, but to those people it means so much"
Cartoonists know the conversation that happened when creating this cover.

“Hey do you think this reads as the Flash being turned into a puppet?”

“I don’t know. They might think he’s a robot? What if you made Flash say ‘oh no! I’m a puppet!’”

“Wait, I’ve got a better idea.”
Every comic cover since has been trying and failing to reach the heights glimpsed by this Carmine Infantino cover for Flash #133 in 1962. You may not like it but this is what peak performance looks like
Flash being turned into a puppet while thinking "I've got the strangest feeling I'm being turned into a PUPPET!". FUN FACT: it is impossible to see this cover and not want to see more

. @404media.co is investigating book bans. They could use your pointers on where to be looking. You can do it anonymously.

It's only 25 days until we open and we've still got $ to raise. The great news is that we've raised 41% of our goal - $7400 of $18,000! We need to raise $18,000 to cover 6 months rent and utilities. So we still have $10,600.

Yeah, I wonder if my problem is stripe related too, as Patreon is saying I have a pending payment to this creator. Ug.
I’m not. Has that given folks problems?
Ug. That stinks. A payout issue is much worse.
Of course I'm worried that it's happening to people that want to support me as well, but mostly I just want to get my hands on the cool stuff he's got in there!
I’ve been trying to support @slyflourish.com on Patreon for four months, but a bug keeps blocking me. At their request I’ve sent screenshots, videos, and code samples to Patreon support, but they don’t know when it’ll be fixed. Frustrating.

hey comics folk gimme some tips
what is the best way to do an indie digital comic without a publisher as a middleman? i have a totally uncommercial idea i really think would resonate with the right audience.

patreon?
Making comics for me is equal parts drawing, problem-solving, and process-tweaking. This week: 3D-modeled a character’s house, rethought my whole batching system, and tested Patreon’s new livestreams. And most of that's not even the creative work. There's always more to try and figure out.
