I was t-boned when someone ran a red light. Broke my wrist and missed 3 months of work. Their insurance (progressive) offered me $1400 to settle, even after I itemized lost wages+transportation cost to $12K. Had to lawyer up. Insurance effing sucks. I'll give it up to USAA tho, they are fabulous

My SIL paid them for over 20 years, zero claims. Now that her kitchen sprung a leak through no fault of hers, they're balking at every turn and lowballed her by nearly $100K to fix the problem. It's been 4 months and now they have to get a lawyer to get anything done. SF can suck it!
