And the PFO letter from FIFA about the World Cup visa pre-draw ticket raffle arrived today.
Great, bloody Tories squeezed out a majority in provincial election. Don't get me wrong, the Liberals were utter dross, but now that's just going to be amplified. Yea, 4 years of even more debt, both personal and provincial, no doubt even worse anti-education budgets/policies, and oil&gas overdrive
Really dislike having to vote strategically to stop Tories getting in, but I guess that what being an adult is about
I'll be happy with 4 from next 2.
Back to players flicking balls in to opponents arms from a yard away. Game's gone
That's bollocks. Where the fuck is he meant to put his arm
Looks like N. Ireland's had a goal disallowed against ze germans as well

Today Leeds followed our forebears who kicked Oswald Moseley and his Facists out of the city at the Battle of Holbeck Moor and stood up to racism, the far right and said loud and clear”Refugees are welcome here”. This is Leeds

Between 1980 and 1984, Ibis won none of their 55 matches. Their goal difference over that period was minus 206. Ibis say this was the longest winless run in football history.

They have attracted global fame as a result.

@jacklang.bsky.social went to Brazil to meet them.

Ibis Sport Club once went almost four years without winning a game - the Brazilians' attitude to their status has brought them global fame

I mean, it's not exactly an earth shattering surprise, but FIFA are an utterly corrupt, morally bankrupt, organization, who don't give a flying f**k about the health of the game or the actual day-to-day real fans who are the actual lifeblood
Fans bought the ‘right to buy’ 2026 World Cup tickets. Now they feel ‘ripped off’
Fans were left disgruntled as details of the connection between FIFA collectibles and World Cup game tickets emerged

It's OK to not be OK.

There's no shame. The brain is an organ. Just like the pancreas or the lungs. You wouldn't be ashamed to ask for help with lung disease or diabetes. Mental health is no different. Any organ can get out of whack occasionally. The brain is no different.
Mr. Wakefield, we have some husky sounding geezer called RFK on the phone for you. Something about falsifying studies and fabricating data to meet pre-determined conclusions for personal financial gain
That’s not how you science.
Tweet from Republicans Against Trump says: “RFK Jr: There’s no proof that Tylenol causes autism. We’re doing the studies to make the proof.” Below is a photo of a White House meeting showing RFK Jr., Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump at a long conference table.
But,but immigrants are bad
Less than 70% of science Nobel prize winners awarded this century hail from the country in which they were awarded their prize.

More than 30% of this century’s science Nobel prizewinners immigrated: see their journeys
The most common destination for eventual Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry and medicine since 2000 is the United States, Nature has found.

Between this and the Nobel peace prize, the dictator-in-waiting to the South of me is going to be assembling an invasion strike team isn't he.
On Friday night, Oslo will stage a vital World Cup qualifier.

But it is also a political powder keg after Norway called for opponents Israel to be thrown out of the competition due to their government’s actions in Gaza.

This is how a football game took on geopolitical significance.

And now this gem: fetuses grow in the placenta.

The USA is absolutely f**ked.

We would genuinely have to have two separate courses to cover all the food and drug misinformation just in the last 3 months from these idiots
RFK Jr: "Somebody showed me a TikTok video of a pregnant woman at 8 months pregnant -- she's an associate professor at the Columbia Medical School -- and she is saying 'F Trump' and gobbling Tylenol with her baby in her placenta. The level of Trump Derangement Syndrome is now a pathology."
Circumcision. Can honestly say that was not on the bingo sheet of American anti-science idiocy to address in our first year course next semester
Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.
