A lot of things happening in this picture. I'll try to take you through it. The sun is setting behind the sea and behind a thick and chaotic cloud bank at the horizon. A small hole in the clouds at the right gives room for the suns beams to kiss the sea, falling diagonally to the right. The sea is dark with white surf, but illuminated and brigther on the left. In the foreground waves have just retreated, leaving the beaches sand wet with some white foam and reflecting the sky.
