Neversoft’s ninth and final Tony Hawk game.
October 16, 1997

No life bars.
No combos.
No rounds.

One hit. One death.
I almost literally ran into Itagaki at E3 2005 as he was flanked by dual braided body guards.

He was on his way to the Capcom booth where he stood alone and watched Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in a disapproving manner for about 10 minutes before marching off.

RIP legend

The day that The Duke officially died.

Reminder to remove that clock capacitor if you still have one of these.
The clock capacitor is very cheaply made and many have begun to leak acid onto the motherboard, which will destroy the whole thing. You can replace it or just pop it off. The only consequence is your console won't remember what time it is after you turn it off.

Oh. Well, in that case... I got all the achievements in Fable II Pub Games. A game Ryan called "A crappy gambling game that also doubles as a parable about the dangers of downloadable content."

It’s not a good sign when your sports sim gets delayed to the end of the season. It was one of the first to render every MLB stadium and it was Sony’s first step on the journey to The Show.

And the San Diego connection was already strong thanks to Jerry Coleman on commentary.

A jarring tonal shift from the first game and maybe the first big example of GTA3’s influence on game development.
And for running to third for the second force out.
Just your average 8-6-2 double play.

what in the hell just happened in Milwaukee
170+ years and shit no one's ever seen still happening on the grandest stages of baseball. ⚾️

MK3 hits home.

It’s difficult to explain the level of MK3 obsession throughout 1995. Scouring early internet for rumors (shoutout rat.org), clipping magazines, trading secrets at the arcade, etc.

Shoutout to Flux Magazine’s @danamrich.bsky.social. Whatever happened to that guy? 😉

Oh, did we forget to tell you this is an RTS game?

It’s kind of a miracle that this worked at all considering the Move controllers. The headset design was superb though.

Kitty got wet.

The truth is in these four discs.

Capcom used to get weird.

The first SMT game to be released unedited outside of Japan.
No real story stuff. Just 300 short missions to try to master.

The Mega powers explode.

It’s not really integral.

Such a strange choice of game to remake. And they keep doing it! It’s like 90% side quests, but the soundtrack is good.

What do you do after making a game as perfect as SSX 3? Add skiing I guess?
