Beautiful photo.

I love how you captured the wings, showing that bit of cinnamon I like :)

Thank you, I really appreciate that :)

Sorry, here's the baby, all alone in the bush... 😉😅
I hope you're having a great day!

This Saffron finch flew down for a drink in the creek and cast such a lovely #reflection on the water! It's a beautiful little bird, but I liked this picture with the serene surroundings for context rather than a closeup.

In a bush, not one, but two for #birdinabush. Red-crested cardinal feeding its young.

Happy to see the Mockingbirds visiting my yard every day :)

The theme for #BirdOfTheDay today is 'long neck,' so here's a picture of an Anhinga. She looks quite striking, doesn't she? And flexible. Swimming with only that long neck and head above water has earned the Anhinga the nickname 'snake bird.'

I appreciate it, Brenda!

And you caught the entire sequence! I know these birds have a 'reputation,' but I think they're great. A songbird with raptor-like behaviors 👍

Thank you! These are invasive species, but who can stop them? And, I love watching them, especially the interactions with their young :)

This is such a beautiful capture!

I love these sparrows!

Here's a link to see the feeder's features, much better than the video I tried to make for you! As I mentioned earlier, I added a saucer to further contain the seed, and make it harder for large birds to reach food from the outside, hopefully squirrels too!

Love the theme for today's #BirdOfTheDay! The #wings on this Great White egret nestling show flight feathers still partly encased in sheaths (pin feathers.) Not quite ready to fly!

I love fall, and even more now for the birds!

I will show you. It's a simple system, and if you're skillful you should be able to make something similar with the measurements you need. I'll have to do it in the day time though!

A Limpkin feeding one of its chicks. Apple snails are a primary food source for these birds, but the snails are tough for the little ones to handle, so they rely on their parents for help. 🪶

I see. 1 inch is pretty small. I was even wondering if anything but the smallest birds (chickadees, warblers, finches) would be able to get into this feeders. I was happy to see cardinals slip right in. I can't wait for my fall/winter visitors.

I don't have that type of camera, but I keep an eye out throughout the day. I'll keep you posted. If you want, I can send you pics to show you how I anchored a saucer inside the feeder to keep food off the edge. Also, how the feeder opens for cleaning and refilling. I can DM you. Just let me know.

The "cage" lifts apart from the tray, so it's easy to clean. I read reviews reporting grackles, jays, and other larger birds reaching from the outside to get food off the tray near the edges. So I added a pot saucer anchored in the middle and I put the food in it to keep it away from the perimeter.

I don't know about a difference in size for Starlings. This is a good time of year for me to see more birds coming in after the usual lull at the end of summer. One thing about Starlings is they can get in just about anywhere they decide to get into!!
