IMF raised its forecast from 3% to 3.2%.The country will also lag behind the United States (2% growth),China (4.8%),and India (6.6%).

The IMF expects Russia’s GDP to start contracting by 0.5% year-on-year in the fourth quarter.A modest recovery is projected only in 2026, with growth of about 1%⬇️

In April, the IMF projected 1.5% growth, then reduced it to 0.9% in July, and now to 0.6%. The cumulative downgrade of 0.9 percentage points is the steepest among all major global economies.

As a result, Russia’s economy will expand four times slower than the global average, for which the⬇️
