Busy birding walk this morning. multiple Egrets;on the mere and flying over, think they were all Great White but one appeared smaller. Also great to have Redwings back as well as Fieldfares, still just flying over, Ravens, Pinkies, Stonechats, Kingfisher, Reed Bunting, Mipits,Tufted Ducks #ukbirding

Wonderful Autumn traps last night in Marbury (VC58) 22/45, 3 NFY Feathered Thorn(6 kept finding them around the traps), Grey Shoulder-knot and Juniper Carpet. Also 5 Merveille du Jours, 6 Green-brindled Crescent including a Cappuccino one, 3 Figure of Eights, 2 Satellites, #teammoth. 1/2

Interesting, it just shows doesn’t it how important it is that we keep our natural environment. So sad when you see large areas with no hedgerows any more. Here we are so lucky. Pics as I am walking now

Yes I wonder. It seems that habitat is so important for these Autumn moths not just exact location. Here I am sure it is because even in the wider landscape, outside our garden( which is messy!) there are so many pockets of wildness as well as farming. Probably the meres and canal help too!

Some mornings you are just in awe of what is in the moth trap. Hope I never lose that absolute excitement and joy as I become a more seasoned moth-er! Last night 2 NfY, at least, with 3 Feathered Thorns & Grey Shoulder- knot also 6 Merveille du Jours!! Full count up when Ravens fed! #teammoth
