I slacked off on cleaning because most forms of cleaning require the use of water, which I was out of or short of for MONTHS.

It rained all week and there's more rain in the forecast next week.

I'm washing the heck out of all of the things. Laundry, showers, ALL OF IT.

Update: It was a whole FAMILY of mice, and they dragged a sock and a bunch of other stuff into the filing cabinet!
Now they are mummified and stuck to the bottom of the drawer 🤢

Yes! It's a spring that is painfully out of code so I only use it for gray water. And I have an in-house UV sanitizer for extra protection.

I'm so hopeful to be done with paper plates etc. I hated the waste.

I've continued to work on my MacGyevered rain collection system and I... am cautiously optimistic it's working.
The hope is to eliminate the need for a pump to prime the system so it's passive/low maintenance.

Fingers crossed it worked.

For my rain-collection project, I decided it would be a good idea to take the heavy-duty, 4 level shelving system out of my garage, drag it through my yard and up the stairs onto my deck -- without disassembling it.

I tried to modify my rainwater collection system and I'm pretty sure I messed it all up.

But walking out to the well to check the water level is a mud slip and slide, so I think it's ok.
