I just reread this for my queer book club and remembered all the reasons I nominated it in the first place!

"Bury Your Gays" by Chuck Tingle

"The River Has Roots" was a lovely fairy tale of similar theme (with a fantastic audiobook!), however, the quote is from the bonus short story "John Hollowback And the Witch" which will appear an an upcoming publication of a book of short stories by Amel el Mothar
"Everyone wants to see a witch punish someone for stealing from her. A witch is a kind of justice in the world. It makes for a fine story. No one wants to admit the truth for all it stares them plainly in the face. Steal from a woman long enough, and a witch is what she'll become."

I love when I pick up a book that I don't expect to be queer and instead find at least a little queerness. One of the main characters is Ace! Not a huge subplot, but this hisfic was fascinating enough showing how the loss of democracy in Iran affected women.

I may be a traumatized shut-in who is terrified of crowds, but I am there with you today in spirit. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I am 1000% here for Chuck Tingle's expansion into queer horror. I even got my queer book club to add "Bury Your Gays" to our lineup!

I just finished "Straight" and it had just the right mix of humor, horror, and social commentary.

Ah, the agony of seeing a typo after it's too late to change it 😅
My May reads!

This month is was the romances that stood out, particularly Space Ace, Pantom and Rook, and Triple Sec.

The Duke Who Steals Hearts was delightfully macabre, and Hamajang suprised me by being a heist book I actually liked.

I don't recall who gave me this recommendation, but THANK YOU!

I'd love to see this mm urban romantasy animated to fully appreciate the magic rich world building.

y’all really love queer books, huh? we’ve reached 100k checkouts so far in 2025, and we’re not even halfway through the year! 🌈📚

which of your QLL reads this year have resonated with you? what titles are you itching to read next?

(big thanks to QLL volunteer @junkyjo.bsky.social for their art!)
Queer books I read in April!

I was particularly floored by "How to Tell When We Will Die" and "Daughters of the Deer" but there is some spectacular scifi and fantasy here too!

I finished this yesterday, and I am still not OK. 💔

Powerful, devastating, and utterly gripping.

Terrible audiobook editing unfortunately. They blasted shrill high pitched music over every flashback type sceen.
Oh I like that cover so much better than the audiobook cover I listened to!
What a fantastic book. I'm still coming to terms with what it means to live with disability.

Anyone have more recommendations for books about queer + disabled intersectionality?

I just listened to it a few days ago and loved it!!
I left it off by accident! "Us" by Sara Soler, a sweet graphic novel by a queer woman about her partner's transition
Queer Books I read in March!

There were so many good ones!

I am an SFF reader at heart so I was most excited by the various fantasy series, particularly "The Final Strife" and "Iron Widow"
