Hopefully there will be a minute's applause for Carlton at Friday's match at Plough Lane. Really sad news 💙💛
Everyone at AFC Wimbledon was deeply saddened to learn that popular former Dons winger Carlton Fairweather has passed away.

Our thoughts are with Carlton’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Congrats... and very well deserved after overcoming the toughest of tests earlier in the competition when the mighty Wimbledon came to Toon 😉💙💛
So sad to hear this news. Met Patrick a few times in the press box at Selhurst Park back in the day when I was a student doing match reports for the Wimbledon Guardian. Hugely respected for good reason and will be much missed.
Such an incredible job that you do Steve, showing such calm professionalism in this kind of situation. You can tell that Lukashenko enjoys his Q&As with you; he convinces himself he's always on top in these exchanges but doesn't realise you are just enabling us all to see what he's really about.
Great article. What a tribute it would be to Bernstein if Hertha can eventually plot a course back to the top flight. Even as a Unioner, I would like to see that.
Like everything he did, it was pure opportunism though. His stance on Ukraine simply gave him the opportunity to play 'war leader' against Putin in what was (for him at least) a war without consequence.

Tamworth denied a trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium because English football is run in the interests of only six clubs and there's some dead-rubber European games to fit in
Based on this interview, I think Newsnight had better start breathalysing their guests before they go on air.

Just the one goal to put up on the scoreboard last night but an ugly old-school win takes us up to 2nd in the league... Happy New Year fellow Wombles! #afcwimbledon
See also Harry Pell of course 😊
Has anyone got any footage of that complete and utter dive he did at Kingsmeadow to win a penalty for Northampton a few years ago? I've still not 'quite' forgiven him for that 😂

And the mental gymnastics his supporters must have to do to remain content with this £40k speaking engagement of his too...

Yes, so full of brilliant detail. You had to watch each episode a few times before you spotted it all.

I don't know if Bluesky is more USA-skewed than Twitter was, but still almost all the sports content I'm seeing is about teams called things like the South Oakland Raccoons or Pennsylvania Fuckforce.
They were simply the best ❤
As you’d expect, Saint & Greavsie have some of the greatest outtakes in British TV history…
He'll always be remembered as one of the writers of AIRPLANE! of course but it was Police Squad! - the 6-part precursor to the Naked Gun films - that I loved most. So tightly-scripted and dizzyingly packed with silly stuff, I watched them endlessly in my teens.
