I think that one of the biggest mistakes made in activism is in misreading the motivations of the rank-and-file members of the opposition, and especially assuming that the motivation of the people pulling the strings is the same as the motivation of the rank-and-file.

I don't expect it to run that long. The longest shutdown I can recall was the 35 day one back in '18, and that was bizarrely long by historical standards.

Yes, so much, yes. I don't think people talk enough about the effect of bad socks on ND folks, and also how this can be one of the ways that poverty can cause serious problems for them.

If I were born in a later generation, someone probably would have called CPS in horror, but it was the 1980s, and CPS would only come out if you were playing D&D, listening to metal, doing drugs, or if your parents were sawing your limbs off to make a throne of bones for their dark satanic master.

My biggest complaint is that they copied the Spotify interface too closely. There were improvements I would have liked, and they mostly just copied it and stopped there.

My general policy is that NO ART SOURCE FILES GO INTO THE CODE REPO EVER. I worked on an MMO where I had to wait to download everyone's Zbrush files, and I know Zbrush, and I use Zbrush, but downloading all those red waxy sweetlings should not get in the way of fixing bugs.
