No, one of the longer incidents was when I relinquished it. Once we weren’t living (the first time) we were advised to hand it back. If you hang into it and are not living there they used to view it poorly. They’d probably imprison you now!

However the bloke who does Grand Designs Aust had some interesting comments about open plan living not being conducive to multi generational or multi people households.

The immigration officers have always had the authority to prohibit your entry - however in the past I think it was rare. I’ve been questioned a few times - as I held a provisional green card.
