In recruit school, our our chief gave us a talk about the responsibility that comes with being a first responder. The public trusts firefighters to be the good guys. He warned us not to ever do anything that could jeopardize that. LEOs have lost that trust and now they’re feeling the consequences

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.

Shaheen: What’s ironic about this is that 57% of people who identify as MAGA Republicans benefit from those tax credits. 76% of people who receive premium tax credits are in states that Trump won. I don’t understand why our colleagues have been so reluctant to address this looming problem.

ICE has always had a reputation for hiring the people that other law enforcement agencies rejected. This guy is a good example of who works for ICE. He gets caught red-handed and then threatens the officers. He’s a bully and he’s kinda dumb.

Detaining US citizens without a warrant or probable cause comes to mind. Deporting people without due process. Deploying military against civilians. Increased electronic surveillance.

We used to have hard and fast rules about searches, warrants, and privacy. We relaxed a lot of those rules to make investigations of terrorists easier. But ever since 9//11, "National security" has become a blank check that a govt can use to cover its ass when it does sketchy stuff. Here and abroad.

I still don't understand why so many Republican members of Congress are choosing to be complicit. I may not agree with them on questions of policy, but I thought we all agreed on the Constitution. I thought we were all Americans. This is the part that I just can't wrap my head around.

Yup. He screwed them with tariffs and immigration last time too. The farmers forgot about all of that really quickly. It makes you wonder what their motivation for voting MAGA really was.

I feel bad for the farmers. They trusted him and a lot of them are going to lose everything. But plenty of people tried to warn them. The real question is whether or not they will realize MAGA is a lie before it’s too late.
