For those of you following me, but who aren't that familiar with what I do... Let me introduce you to a few home video releases I have contributed to lately. I do liner notes, commentaries, and visual essays. Sometimes I even show up on camera! I'm known for my knowledge of horror and TV movies!

For day 287 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I am going with the oddball werewolf flick Deathmoon (1978). The story is simple: A man (Robert Foxworth) unearths some dark secrets from his family's past. This one is very, very fun. Foxworth is great

This entry of the Afternoon Playbreak was written by the great Rita Lakin, won Dillman a Daytime Emmy, and boasts a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance by a then unknown John Candy! It's like the ABC: Wide World of Mystery, so you can judge your interest based on that, but it's pretty fun. (3/3)

Lois Nettleton and Bradford Dillman star as the head of a family who move to Salem for a little peace and quiet only to find themselves fending of a coven of witches attempting to resurrect Satan! (2/3)

For day 286 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose the eerie shot on video DAYTIME telefilm The Last Bride of Salem, which aired as part of a short lived series called the ABC Afternoon Playbreak. (1/3)

At the weekend, I had the absolute pleasure to chat with director Ian Corson about his From Hell thriller MALICIOUS (1995). Lots of interesting details not made public before, including the fact that he wanted Matthew McConaughey for the male lead (but producers went for Patrick McGaw instead).

Thank YOU for following along! Hopefully I've helped you add a couple of titles to your list.

For day 285 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose The Strange and Deadly Occurrence (1974). Robert Stack moves his family from the city to a small town for a little peace only to find that someone - or something - doesn't want them there

She appeared in several made for television movies, making the small screen just that much more glamorous. She shines in TVMs like Vanished (1971), Snatched (1973), Maneater (1973), Winter Kill (1974), Most Wanted (1976), The Night They Took Miss Beautiful (1977), and Portrait of a Stripper (1979)

And that’s what set her apart - her character. She came across as brazen and confident and most importantly, she was memorable. From Lou Grant’s night club singing girlfriend to Blanche’s troubled sibling on the Golden Girls, Sheree was always the one you gravitated towards.

Unbelievably sexy and strong, Sheree was originally intended to be a replacement (or at least some stiff competition) for Marilyn Monroe when she first broke into pictures. Her career never took her to that level of stardom, but she settled nicely into the role of character actress.

I thought I'd be able to make more time for my Small Screen Scream Queens posts, so maybe next year I'll do something with a bit more organization, but for now, I wanted to celebrate one of my favorite actresses, Sheree North.

It's pretty fun. I love the original radio play as well.

For day 284 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose the remake of Sorry, Wrong Number, which originally aired OTD in 1989. Loni Anderson is very good as the bedridden woman who overhears someone planning a murder when her phone lines gets crossed

A really great man. I know I'm not the only one who will never forget him.

Yesterday marked the two year anniversary of Jeff Burr's passing. I started as a fan of his work, and eventually became his friend. He wrote the foreword to my book, and my god was he ever a cheerleader. The sweetest man I ever knew and what a loss for all of us. I miss him.

For day 283 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose the 1971 thriller A Little Game. Mark Gruner is unhappy with his mother's (Diane Baker) new beau (Ed Nelson) and the tension grows when Nelson begins to suspect that Gruner killed another boy

For day 282 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose the sci-fi mystery Night Slaves, which features James Franciscus as a man who finds himself in a town where nothing is quite what it seems. Director Ted Post does it again! A slow burn chiller

I should maybe add he gave me this the other day too.

Funny how some people just get you.

For day 281 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I decided to celebrate the shenanigans of the Freeway Fiddler in Death Car on the Freeway. A madman (dubbed The Fiddler for the music he listens to during his attacks) is running women off the road
