On World Anatomy Day, we honour the gift of understanding the human body—its design, resilience, and vital role in life. Studying anatomy is to witness nature’s quiet genius. Most sacred are those who donated their bodies, their silent generosity shaping so much of what we know about ourselves.
No not at all and I think many have argued that. It's not 'sick' though may be inappropriate
I'm not sure I'd agree that the description is 'sick' but it is important to acknowledge those differences
Yes very likely, I agree, but its also important to acknowledge this and educate others when and where we can.
In terms of body donation, the average age of our donors at time of death is probably in their 80s,so never too late to sign up if you are interested
Organ Donor and Body Donor to an Anatomical Programme for study are two completely separate and discete things - a good thing to raise and make people aware of Steve, thanks.
Cannot express how excellent the spicy tantanmen ramen, with sides of crunchy chicken karaage and the show stealing crispy sichuan aubergine, were yesterday from Tomo no Ramen in Old Market - a stones throw from the centre and a must visit for anyone visiting 😍
Excellent evening yesterday attending the online 'meet the author' event, hosted by @surgeonshall.bsky.social and the brill @anatomicalcat.bsky.social, chatting to the wonderful and inspiring @mollyconisbee.bsky.social about her beautiful book, and all things death studies. Thanks all!
Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that caring for our minds is just as vital as caring for our bodies. It's OK not to be OK; 1 in 8 of us live with some form of mental health imbalance or disorder. Today, be gentle with yourself and others, everyone carries something unseen.
Loved it - can't wait for DDD18!
So pleased to have my abstract accepted as a presentation, at #DDD17 in Utrecht in the summer!
@anatomicalcat.bsky.social exciting event! Might be being daft, but how can we get online tickets for this please?
