It's a little creepy, the ending is kind of sad and it does explore dark subjects. However it's not really like a super gory slasher flick with tons of jumpscares or anything.

It was a pretty interesting movie, I think I'd need to rewatch it to get the full picture but one of the main themes that I picked up on was the way it explored the oppression and creepiness of puritanical societies which honestly makes it uncomfortably relevant to this day.

I know this wasn't the case when the movie came out, but people still get it wrong in the modern day when have 2 feature films revolving around Smurfette's insecurities being made by Gargamel.

The Lost Village showing that she doesn't know what her "thing" is and Smurfs 2 for this:

I really related to that scene because I LOVE the smurfs and people tend to completely misunderstand smurfette specifically.

First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy and the overwhelming goodness of the smurf way of life transformed her.
