After getting into countless friendships that involved a dismissive-avoidant (oftentimes, with limerence as a side-symptom), I decided to look inwards & heal my core childhood wound. (mine stemmed from extreme emotional neglect). Basically, I gave myself the love I never received from my family.

No, I was never avoidant, but anxiously-attached to an extreme. Used to be afraid of being on my own & had to be around people at all times, so I could feed on their validation. I managed to heal all of that.😄

Tho I see how my current lifestyle may come across as avoidant to someone who is anxious.

You might be leaning on "anxious attachment" b/c I'd never have put up with a person like that for 8 days, let alone 8 months. What I'd do in your shoes is leave this situationship immediately & try to heal my own anxious attachment. As a former AA (now securely attached) I can share how I did it.

Dismissive Avoidants often self-sabotage their relationships b/c they subconsciously WANT to fail so they can victimize themselves & validate their core belief/wound that they're not good enough. Sadly, unhealed DAs are only good as superficial friends (as long as you don't mind always initiating).😮‍💨

As mentioned in our last convo on Discord, I don't "deal" with avoidants in my personal life. I already have a lifelong project (my writing). I don't need another. Fearful avoidants, I may engage occasionally. Dismissive avoidants, I give a wide berth. Ultimately, these people must heal themselves.

Hands-down THE BEST DARK FANTASY STORY I've experienced (including all films, tv series & games). Nothing comes close to this epicness by a longshot. 💙📚

Reading book 1 not obligatory, but helps.
