After this afternoon’s quiet Seawatch, news came through of 2 Spoonbills at Firth VP at RSPB Dungeness.

Managed to get there for some photos of the Juvenile birds.

This afternoon at Dungeness, during the quiet Seawatch from The Fishing Boats, Black Headed Gull “TJVV” came to bread.

This makes the 6th Winter that “TJVV” has taken up residence at Dungeness.

Dungeness, at the end of this morning’s truly bad Seawatch from the Fishing Boats, a Short-eared Owl was picked up on a shingle ridge behind us, managed to get some flight shots, before we left.

From the Fishing Boats at Dungeness this morning, the truly disappointing Seawatch was enlivened by a number of Caspian Gulls that came to the thrown bread.

At a windy Dengemarsh Gully early this afternoon, a stunning Pallas’s Warbler, which showed well at least once for me,undoubtedly the bird of the day.

Well found by Stephen M who alerted the locals.

Lydd on Sea VC15, a mild damp night by the sea, gave 99 of 20.

Highlights were Marbled Fern, which was NFG, and the first Red-line Quaker of this year.

Dengemarsh Hide 02.10.25, a 1W Caspian Gull XE1E, amongst the gull roost.

The first record since it was ringed as Pullus on 08.06.25, at Hiddensee Island, Germany, it crossed the Channel again and was reported at Le Portel, Pas de Calais the next day.

From yesterday 12.10.25, from Dengemarsh Hide at RSPB Dungeness, this impressive Yellow-legged Gull was the outstanding gull in the roost when I was in the hide.

Pleased to find a NFY on the last carton in one of the traps, a Blair’s Shoulder-knot , an honourable mention goes to the 91 Black Rustic’s in the traps or on the fence above the traps.

At St Andrew’s Churchyard, Dacre - the 4 Red Sandstone Bears that are each a Grade 2 Listed Structure, they mark the four corners of the original Medieval churchyard, it’s unknown what their purpose is or what they indicate.
