Based on feedback, this is the answer. We've switched from an "everyone trick or treats in their own neighborhood" model to a "everyone trick or treats in select pre-designated hot zones."

Did trick or treating fully die? I moved into a house in a suburb this year and 100% expected and anticipated costumed kids at the door, yet NO ONE SHOWED UP. The street was DESERTED. Kinda bummed me out!

Last night, very few houses in our neighborhood had candy. So we let the kid stay up "late," made popcorn, opened some candy, and showed him The Addams Family for the first time (he's 6).

He fell asleep on the couch and had a brilliant Halloween 🥰 Couldn't ask for better as a parent~

I spent like 15 years living next to people who spoke a different language than me and it's fine! There are benefits! You learn a little bit of that language over time, and occasionally they have family members who send them home with food and you try the best empanadas you've ever had.

I will be withdrawing myself from Thursday’s HSGAC hearing to lead the Office of Special Counsel because unfortunately I do not have enough Republican votes at this time.

This is one of those things that isn't even evil, really. He's just demented and there's no one who's willing to stop him. It'd be like finding out Trump is eating mac and cheese at every meal. Like... OK, that's not the worst thing he's done but he should stop! An adult should intervene!
