The PiZero 2W spectrum recorder runs for 7 hours on two 18650s & a step-down 5V converter (which doesn’t seem to add measurable noise on HF). And of course the batteries are hot-swappable as the unit has its own small UPS battery. The only limitation is the amount of free space on the MicroSD card 📡
SIM card ejector! Sensitive SDR 😃
🎙️ One-two, one-two, is this thing on? It’s been a minute! Late to the party but here’s uConsole CM4 running CubicSDR with #AirSpy HF+ Discovery.

I found some pulsed noise this morning and I thought this would be a good demo of SDR#'s Wide Band Noise Blanker (WB NB) and Natural Intelligence Noise Reduction (NINR.) Here's a quick video of the different combinations. Used an Airspy HF+ and a YouTwin Loop.

The #YouTwin, ladies and gentlemen.
Thinking of putting up my Twitter archive online somewhere, now that I've officially closed that account. Unfortunately the archive is missing replies from other users and all the other interactions but it's a vault with many good memories of doing radio in the field.

Happy New Year! A Fresh Start and Update on 2024 Correspondence
Good Morning! It's January 1st, 2025, and I'd like to wish you a very Happy New Year! I mentioned on Patreon yesterday that, in a sense, I’m happy to see 2024 in the rear-view mirror. Frankly, it was a tough year for our family in many ways, but even amidst the challenges, there were moments of celebration and joy.

About 11 years I would sometimes hear them on 783 kHz. Are they still using that frequency?

6070kHz: Radio DARC farewell to #Moosbrunn. A number of people contributing their memories. One guy - DX tips presenter @ HCJB Germany directly blames AWR mass withdrawal from this & other big transmitters for MOS' demise. Followed by low-key sad version of Blue Danube 💀 #shortwave #DeathOfAMRadio

For the US friends. While the BBC does not target North America on shortwave, it is not ruled out you might get overspill reception from a transmitter for somewhere else:

I for example receive NHK in Japanese although no shortwave transmitter explicitly targets Europe

Wow. The device we've all been waiting for! RF IQ field recording made ultraportable.

Thanks Paul, I’m still refining it, but a blog post on this and a GitHub page are in the works! Hopefully it will be easy to build your own 😃
