Gave me the chance to leave home, be on my own, & grow up. I left college with friends who are literally my second family now. Memories and opportunities I’ll never take for granted. My mom didn’t get to finish college & my dad never went. It meant everything to me to go & make something for myself.

Ms. Chapman was my first black teacher, and she was amazing.
