Now to re-learn and practice Italics. I am starting with a parallel pen with a cartridge of fountain pen ink (J Herbin’s ‘Poussiere de lune) and Strathmore drawing paper with guidelines on. No dipping or reloading a nib, just focusing on the letter forms right now.
Finally making progress on my Christmas card design that I came up with last April 🌕🌑 I have been saving the stamps Canada Post had to commemorate the total solar eclipse in 2024.
I getting back to self-portraiture again after over a decade of not creating, she was a big influence for me when I first created and I’m taking this as a sign that I really should ❤️
Finally downloaded Halide for my iPhone, the fact that it has a 30s timer is an option I have missed from my iPhone 4S & Camera+ (I hope Lisa Bettany is doing well🇨🇦) days. Maybe there were options since, but I didn’t look too hard and I wasn’t doing much self-portraiture in the last decade.
Secured all the necessary tickets for all the Christmas things I planned to attend in December with loved ones 🎄🥰 Might feel early but I was a little late (thankfully not too late).
Listening to Lana Del Ray, sipping on a strawberry beer, overlooking Ottawa and Gatineau’s glittering lights. A slow evening hymn for Summer’s final caress.
I started my online botanical art class in earnest; I am learning to control watercolours. I like that I can watch the videos, give it a try, rewatch, try again, and so on. I will have painted a number of shaded spheres by the end of the weekend.

Submitted my membership application for Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artist Guild (CBBAG) 📚 I am hoping the bookbinding workshops I had wanted to attend pre-pandemic are held again in 2026 (and enough sign up to run it).
