Could be doing much much worse. And I cannot acknowledge any of this without also acknowledging my community and the kind souls in it. Saying that they're a driving force for my motivation or inspiration for me to keep going even in the hardest times would be an understatement

Times have been tough. I try to remember to be kind to myself. My life changed immensely when my job burned down. Then had to move in with abusive family, only to escape somewhere and work on getting my footing in a foreign place with no local support. And frankly, doing good.

Sometimes doing the work is making hard decisions. It'll hurt for a little while and you might even be alone for an indeterminate time. But at the end of the day, you gotta do what's right over what's comfortable. Or be content in your own misery.
You're either about it or you're not.

This is not a dig at anyone else. I know these things can be great escapes for ppl trying to hold it together (much like the labubu thing)
But my heart just sees it as selfish for myself.

I might look into movements/charities I can send the money to instead if I do end up doing it

And if you're more inclined to choose ppl who are shitty, vote against you having rights/autonomy/financial independence/etc., because being alone is scary, at what point are you just as bad as them for validating them never needing to do better to have access to good ppl?

If you're too scared to confront something because the outcome might mean that connection ends, then the connection isn't real/respectful. You're just scared of being alone at that point and rather than deal with that, you'd rather manipulate yours and others consent with selective information.
