Any German people here who send stuff to the US via the DHL business website? I've got my login but I'm so overwhelmed I cannot make any progress lmao Where are the customs forms, how do I even buy labels properly??? I'm so confused

Today I made some snack plates/bowls with the leftovers and I’m feeling very artsy about it 🥰 Turns out knowledge about colours can be helpful in your daily life too. Have some complementary colours and shapes and stuff starts to look nice💛

yesterday I made my first ever “charcuterie” board. I don’t think it counts as charcuterie bc it’s got no meat(it’s fully vegan). So it’s more like a stuffed snack board but I think it turned out super cute🥹

The board is a picture frame with parchment paper inside and I felt very clever about it

So perhaps that’s why the books are so off? I hope you can find a solution for this because it sounds like the communication was pretty bad on their website and you really don’t deserve the extra headache.

in your video it looks like you picked an uncoated paper for the finished book? Test prints are often on 170g coated photo print paper(Bilderdruckpapier lmao) so the colour job is wildly different between these two options because uncoated paper sucks up a lot of toner/ink.

(not meant in a negative way!! ) like this because printing the whole thing on fancy paper when it’s not going to be a finished product is not cost-efficient for the printer. Again, they need to be upfront about this. I’m not super sure but

Like, the colour job on a colour proof is 100% what you can expect in the final product and if they’re not delivering that, you have the right to get it reprinted or get your money back. Getting the entire book as a proof is somewhat unusual for a “small quantity”project

But usually a “test print” is just for checking the layout of your book. Often you can also order a colour proof, which is usually one side of the cover or so on the paper that your item is actually going to be printed on. That one is definitely binding.

The thing with the different machines or even papers for test prints is somewhat normal with online manufacturers. It depends on what kind of proof you’re ordering. They definitely need to be upfront about what you’re getting of course!
