The amount of times I’ve nearly knocked myself out on that cupboard when I’ve needed to get on to the worktop to reach something too high up is ridiculous.

Discovering that the workmen’s safety issues in my kitchen are the same two the property surveyor flags every year. Kitchen sink blocks a fire exit at the window (if it’s ever needed) and the wall mounted cupboard to the left of the cooker.

I’m only wanting to get quotes just now, got a wee while before I can go ahead and get the work started, so mostly pricing up and getting a time frame too in case I need to book hotel while workmen are in.

I’ve already asked elseweb: anyone have recs for painter/decorater in Aberdeen (Scotland) it’s for a whole flat (bedsit - big room, kitchen, bathroom and lobby) and also possibly a joiner to measure three internal doors, remove them and replace them with new doors.

Not ideal but it is only a short term solution until I get my new blinds fitted in a few weeks time.

The new windows are done, just need painted which is either tomorrow or Monday. I gave the joiner a note of the key safe code to give to the painters. If they come tomorrow morning that is.

Plastic is down on all floors and joiners have appeared. The blind in the big room is badly needing replaced.

Interesting. Electrician has been to disconnect the window fans in kitchen and bathroom, took one look at them and said “joiner than just unplug them” 🤔 pretty sure they need disconnected at the fuse box for the new window fans to be installed in those rooms.
