Oh she was definitely a PITA. But yeah, he was too harsh. And she was ready to just, what, forgive him calling her all those names and saying horrible things, just because he smiled at her and said, OK, I'll sleep with you? Ugh. Talk about toxic.

To write him as more and more of an a-hole as the years went by, and then have him unleash on someone who was OBVIOUSLY only acting out sexually as a trauma response, that was just not okay. Vala loved him, and while I'm not a V/D shipper, it absolutely broke my heart. I no longer like Daniel.

From what I always took from the writers at the time, they were constantly thinking the show was being canceled, and would write an ending, only for it to be renewed. So when they finally got the cancelation they were not prepared. I hate that episode. Even just the verbal abuse from Daniel alone.

In an interview with The Economist, Steve Bannon claimed that there was “a plan” to get around the 22nd Amendment, the constitutional limit that bars anyone from being elected president more than twice. He added that he was involved with a group working on that plan.
