Harold Ross @newyorker.com editor in a letter from Oct 15, 1925: “Everybody talks of the New Yorker's art, that is its illustrations…[it’s] been described as the best magazine in the world for a person who can not read. Our text is not as good as it ought to be, but I guess we will get it better...”

Heartbreaking. The perpetrators knew exactly what they were doing, and had no care for the lives they wrecked & in her case took away. Prosecute them all and do share her story. Up to us to ensure others are protected from such in the future. #VirginiaGiuffre #EpsteinFiles #Maxwell #PrinceAndrew

Alex Cook's March 1954 cartoon about CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow's criticism of Senator McCarthy.
Still really miss these two programmes. Will never understand why they ended both, the best of public service broadcasting, informative, educational, and a joy to watch and hear discussions which opened the mind rather than not. Bring them back please!
Just received an email with the results of the BBC survey.
My suggestion of ending news bulletins on Radio 3 and 6Music and using the money saved to bring back Dateline London and Hardtalk were ignored.
Strange that ..

My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve.news We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now.

Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine.

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

When Hesgeth tells journalists "Pentagon access is a privilege, not a right" they ought to remind him that his, Trump's or any pther republican's position in government is a privilege only given to them by the public within a democracy. And the people do actually have the right to question all.

A new Department of Defense policy bars journalists from the Pentagon unless they agree to only publish information that has been officially authorised.

Wonderful. Imagine standing there taking that photo! Spent this morning collecting fallen leaves in the park and putting them in a pen in the allotment to use as next year's leaf mulch. I do like the changing seasons and letting the wildlife take over the allotment for winter.
